self-love prescriptions

There is more to Valentine's Day than just Hershey Kisses, teddy bears and candlelit dinners. Valentine's Day is a beautiful time of the year to recognize the infinite love that exists in our world. It forces us (even if it is because the media throws it at us at every angle) to see love everywhere - in our neighbors, friends, partners, pets, family and most importantly to see love in ourselves.

Loving one's self is one of the most essential ways to set a healthy tone for our precious life - and once we can get that hard part down, we will begin to attract more love into our heart and soul.

Self-love does not happen overnight and it's not the easiest thing to feel. In fact, most of us are so hard on ourselves that we tend to pick out our flaws, imperfections and see all the things we aren't instead of seeing all the divine things we are.

Check out my three favorite self-love rituals that make falling in love with ourselves a little bit easier :)

1. Self-Love Affirmations

Things You Need:

- Rose Nectar

- Glass of water

- Rose Quartz

- Mirror

Practice:

- When you awake your slumber in the morning, gather your rose quartz, a mirror and rose nectar

- Place 2-3 droplets of your rose nectar into your water and slowly sip

- Grab your rose quartz and hold it with both of your hands over your heart

- Look into the mirror and state a self-love affirmation out loud three times. Remember to look at yourself straight in the eyes

- After you have stated your affirmation three times out to the Universe, close your eyes and state it again quietly to yourself

- Feel your heart open and take one last inhale and exhale before you begin your day

- Continue to drink your rose-infused water throughout the day as a self-love reminder

2. 'I Love Me' Journaling

Things You Need:

- Journal

- Pen

- Rose Quartz

- Timer

Practice:

- Before you begin your evening bedtime ritual, grab your journal, rose quartz and a timer/phone

- Set your timer for 3-5 minutes (or longer if you feel called to do so)

- Hold your rose quartz while you begin to express every little part you love about yourself in your journal

- Continue this practice until your timer ends

- Place your rose quartz in your pillow case or on your night stand to hold loving energies while you sleep

3. Visualize A Heart Opening

Things You Need:

- Rose Nectar

- Glass of water

- Rose Quartz

- Timer

Practice:

- Set your timer for 11 minutes

- Place 2-3 droplets of your rose nectar into your water and slowly sip

- Lay down on a flat surface and place your rose quartz over your heart

- Begin to visualize your heart opening, radiating white light

- Send those loving energies to those in your life who may need it - friends, family, your partner or maybe it is yourself

- Now, be open to receiving the same, infinite love you are giving into your own heart

- Continue this visualization ritual until your timer has gone off

- Finish your rose-infused water before bed to promote loving, healing sleep

Tips: Some of my favorite self-love affirmations include:

- I love myself completely + wholly

- I radiate beauty, confidence + grace

- I am open to giving + receiving infinite love

- I am worthy of all the love in the world + more
